I am now 9 days out from surgery.I did hit a bump in the road with my spleen complication, but recovering well now. The doctor and dietitian say I'm right on track. When I started the program in August 2012, my weight was 232. The day of surgery I was 219. I "gained" 18 pounds in 3 days from all the IV fluids while in the hospital (the ER visit didn't help). Today I'm down 3 pounds from my surgery date weight. I don't care for these numbers so far, but I have to stay optimistic. I mean, if you think about it, I've "lost" 21 pounds in 9 days. I can't wait to see what the future brings! This is the first time in a very long time that I'm feeling positive about my future and that feels good!

Support group surprise
Today I went to another support group. I've been to this particular group about 3 other times. It isn't close, but it is easy to attend since it is on a Saturday.
I set my alarm to get up in time to get there, but after I started getting ready, I thought about staying home. It hasn't been my favorite group because the times I went before there was this lady who seemed to dominate all the conversations. I ultimately decided to go and I'm glad I did. I met some new people and that lady wasn't there.
There was, however, a lady there that I had met before who had the same insurance that I do and she was just as frustrated as I was. Come to find out, she is having surgery the same day as me and in the same hospital. We are scheduled to do our pre-op class the same day too. I found my surgery twin!
That its all I have for today. I hope everyone is doing well.
